Research laboratory

The Phyto-agrochemical research group was founded by Dr. Iván Córdova Guerrero in 2006 at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences of the UABC. Initially, projects related to medicinal chemistry and the phytochemical study of plants of the genus Salvia were developed.

The team of academics that make up this research group are Dr. Laura J. Díaz Rubio who is in charge of the work related to phytochemistry, plant biotechnology and the chemistry of natural products; Dr. Myriam Tatiana Montaño Soto, specialist in analysis and remediation of contaminated soils, environmental management and sustainable development projects; and Dr. Iván Córdova Guerrero as leader of the group, with experience in synthesis of natural products, soil fertility, plant nutrition and the technological development of new agricultural products.
